Getting kids reading

Discover Children’s Story Centre

The client

Discover Children’s Story Centre is the UK’s first hands-on creative literacy centre for children aged 0-11 years and their families, carers and teachers. We’ve been working with Discover for several years.

The brief

Discover asked us to redesign the logo for their annual London Children’s Book Swap event. Held across London at participating museums and galleries, such as the Royal Festival Hall, children are encouraged to swap their old books for new ones.

What we delivered

We chose a simple strong ident of a book to provide the framework for the logo, giving instant recognition that it represents a literary event.

The logo can be easily utilized across a suite of campaign-supporting assets, while the spine provides a home for Discover to assert its ownership over the event.

The red gives it stand out as well as a nod to the book swap’s London focus – think London buses, Beefeaters etc.
