A Morrisons Coffee Shop in Leeds

Morrisons

The client

We love a coffee in the Sherlock studio. As well as keeping us alert though, our habit feeds into our design work too, as clients continue to commission us to create coffee concepts for them.

One of these was the Morrisons Coffee Shop, located in the forecourt just outside of the Morrisons Merrion Centre store, in Leeds. Opened in May 2016, it complements existing Morrisons Cafés across the retailer’s estate.

The brief

Sherlock worked with the Morrisons design team to develop the look & feel, communications and branding for the new coffee shop.

Project requirements

We were tasked with creating a warm and familiar experience for customers, whether their mission was to grab an on-the-go coffee or to sit down and stay for a while. Communications were to be simple and clear with a warm and friendly tone of voice.

What we delivered

We aimed to deliver a modern, stylish design which appeals to the mainstream consumer. In doing so, we developed a look and feel that gives a subtle nod to the industrial feel of artisanal coffee shop culture whilst staying true to the Morrisons brand.
