Bringing the cannabis industry together

William Reed Business Media

The brief

We were asked by William Reed Business Media to create an identity for the CBD Global Summit – a new two day new conference designed to provide thought leadership within the CBD sector.

What we delivered

We carried out a thorough benchmarking exercise to define the visual language of the CBD sector, globally.

Due to the potentially negative associations of the cannabis leaf, we chose not to hero the leaf in its true form. Instead, we used a green colour palette, and stylised leaf and droplet devices (the latter as a nod to CBD oil) as visual cues. These devices, used in the logo, turned out to highly flexible assets, for example, to hold photography and copy.

What the client said

“Due to the surging consumer interest in the CBD sector, the teams behind Food Navigator and The Grocer came together to launch a two day conference in London for retailers, manufacturers and suppliers. We required a quick turnaround, and when it came to the design/branding for the event we wanted to work with a partner who understood our brands, in addition to understanding this hot topic. We weren’t disappointed; Rich, Becky and the team at Sherlock delivered. Not only were we given a variety of strong design options, but they researched the market thoroughly which helped them meet our requirements quickly.  Our internal teams also enjoyed working with such a professional operation.  I look forward to working with Sherlock again, and certainly wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.” Elaine Marshall, Managing Director – Global Brands, William Reed Business Media
