Elmer exhibition
Seven Stories
About the client
We’ve been working with Seven Stories, the National Centre for Children’s Books, for 2 years, developing creative concepts for their campaigns and designing some of their promotional print materials.
The brief
We were asked to design a campaign concept to promote the forthcoming Elmer and Friends exhibition at Seven Stories.
What we delivered
We dug deep into the Elmer brand guidelines to explore the full breadth of the colour palette and brand assets. We settled on using the iconic patchwork squares but used them sparingly so that our hero – Elmer himself – did not get lost in the creative.
Inspired by the patchwork squares, rectangular boxes acted as a flexible and effective asset in which to communicate key information about the exhibition.
What the client said
“Everybody’s favourite elephant arrived at Seven Stories in February 2019 and Sherlock worked with us to create an eye-catching, colourful and – most-importantly – patchwork design to appeal to audiences. Elmer came with his own set of branding guidelines and Sherlock adhered to these with great detail which made for a smooth design process. Everybody loved the vibrant concept and we have had excellent visitor figures for the run of the exhibition to date.” Victoria Sanderson, Marketing & Communications Manager, Seven Stories
