Me, Myself & Us: an anthology of children’s writing

The brief

We were asked to design a front cover and layout to house an anthology of children’s writing, by Little Green Pig and Brighton & Hove City Council’s The Virtual School for Children in Care and Previously in Care.

What we delivered

The content comprised original writing, as well as illustrations created by the writers themselves. As with previous print projects we have completed for Little Green Pig, this meant we had to be careful not to over-design the book.

Our job was to design a canvas to complement the children’s work, and allow it to sing, and not distract from their own creativity. In order to deliver on this, we heroed Little Green Pig’s own typeface and master colour, applying a visual style that we have used in previous Little Green Pig projects, thereby continuing to build local familiarity with the brand.

What the client said

“We worked with Sherlock on a tight turnaround for this anthology which contained lots of different written material from young people and a very short deadline. As ever, they rose to the challenge and got something together for us quickly,  professionally and quickly grasped the look and feel we were going for. Sherlock are always a pleasure to work with.” Ella Burns, Director, Little Green Pig
