Promoting the chefs of tomorrow

William Reed Business Media (WRBM)

The brief

We were asked by WRBM to redesign the sponsorship brochure for the prestigious National Chef of the Year and Young National Chef of the Year competitions which WRBM facilitate.

What we delivered

We developed a smart, pared back design which made the most of the beautiful professional photography that we had been provided with from previous years’ shows.

As the awards are first and foremost about the people whose careers can be made by winning the competitions, we were careful to strike the right balance between shots of food and shots of people.

We complemented the photography with a gun metal grey – a nod to the colour palette one might find through the slate and crockery of a higher-end restaurant.

And we allowed the content to breathe, substantially cutting down the amount of copy from the previous year in order to let the photography of the competitions sell them themselves.

What the client said

“Working with Sherlock is fantastic – the team are creative, dynamic, down to earth and passionate about everything they do, this has really come across in every project we have worked together on. Their vision and insight into industry is a huge plus as well. With all these attributes, coupled with a great team morale, and always willing to go the extra mile, Sherlock are an absolute asset to any project that you want to involve them within – no matter how big or small!” Clair Bowman, Features Manager, William Reed Business Media
