Quality storytelling

Tesco Plc

The brief

Tesco’s UK Quality team ensures that all UK Tesco brand products are safe, legally, ethically and sustainably sourced. They also look after new product development, packaging and nutrition.

We were asked to help the team tell their story for the first time; editing copy and using imagery to produce a complete and engaging book to showcase their work.

What we delivered

Due to its nature, the copy was quite technical in places, so we took a more editorial approach to the design of the book than would be typical for a corporate report. Using editorial devices, such as pull-out quotes and full bleed imagery for break pages, helped to vary the pace of the information presented and keep the reader engaged.

Whilst we flexed the masterbrand guidelines, we ensured we stayed within them to produce a result that was fully on-brand.

We used a blend of people and food (including macro) photography to emphasise that whilst the story is all about safe, quality, legally, ethically and sustainably sourced food, achieving that relies on the expertise of Tesco Quality team colleagues, suppliers and producers – and it’s all done for the customer.
