Refreshingly different design

The brief

We were asked to create a new soft drinks brand and a suite of labels for the brand’s first products: a range of botanically-infused traditional-style lemonades.

What we delivered

The soft drinks industry is all-change at present with manufacturers exploring alternative sweeteners to sugar and experimenting with unusual ingredients, particularly botanicals. Sipsup brings a traditional-style lemonade to market, with the added twist of botanical flavours and a lower sugar content. The result is a familiar drink catering to modern trends.

Our brief was to develop a brand with a strong sense of place in Brighton, where the brand was conceived. It needed to have a premium feel yet still appeal to the mainstream consumer.

We borrowed the silhouette of Brighton’s most iconic building, The Royal Pavilion, in developing Sipsup’s brand marque, the famous onion domes providing a fun nod to the shape of half a lemon, the main ingredient of the base drink.

The labels themselves hero the lemon, with pastel colours reminiscent of warm sunny days at the seaside.

What the client said

“Sherlock Studio helped us from initial ideation to complete branding for our range of Brighton-based Lemonades. Rich pulled everything together and was always contactable, often going out of this way to research and gather information that went above and beyond what we had expected. The creative team are very talented, the vast array of options that we were shown really helped distil down our idea and choose the right direction to follow. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough, we are exceptionally pleased with the outcome and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.” A SipSup spokesman.
