There’s no such thing as a Gruffalo…

Discover Children's Story Centre

The client

Discover Children’s Story Centre is the UK’s first hands-on creative literacy centre for children aged 0-11 years and their families, carers and teachers.

The brief

We were asked to create a suite of campaign materials for Discover’s Gruffalo exhibition, A World Inside a Book: Gruffalos, Dragons and other Creatures.

We had to adopt the visual language of author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler but also ensure the campaign materials were instantly recognisable as Discover.

What we delivered

For the hero campaign visual, we created an adaptable composition / lock-up that allows for flex across a range of formats through which the exhibition would be promoted.

This project was very much a lesson in working closely with all stakeholders to ensure our output complied with everyone’s requirements, objectives and brand guidelines etc. As we were working with existing assets, we also had to be considerate to what is already an established and iconic concept / look and feel.

What the client said

“We heard back from the guys at Macmillan and Scholastic and they love what you’ve done and have passed on their thanks to you, as do we!” Racheal Brasier – Marketing and Events Director, Discover Children’s Story Centre
